Republican gubernatorial nominee Tudor Dixon is proposing spending a billion dollars on public safety. She and running mate Shane Hernandez unveiled the idea in Grand Rapids yesterday, with Dixon saying violent crime has risen over the past four years and adding she feels Governor Whitmer has not made it a top priority. Hernandez says the money exists in the state’s general fund for the plan. Whitmer was in Grand Rapids Monday to be endorsed by over 150 Republicans who have no confidence in Dixon.
