Delegates and special guests from across Michigan are attending this year’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

Retiring U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow says the focus is to lay out how Democrats should move forward.

“Absentee ballots go out into September,” Stabenow said. “We have nine days of early voting, thanks to a lot of hard work by many, many Michigan citizens to make changes so people have more opportunities. You don’t have to have a particular excuse to vote absentee, anyone can. So we’re actually going to see voting starting sooner than folks think.”

This will be Stabenow’s last convention as a sitting member of Congress.
