The South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce has announced Brandy Key as its new executive director.
Key, who previously served as the community liaison, will succeed Kathy Wagaman, who is retiring after 13 years with the chamber. Key is dedicated to professional development and community engagement, and she tells us she’s eager to carry on these values in her new position.
“Seven years ago, I took this position as a community liaison, and I have built a very strong relationship with our chamber members and our local businesses,” Key says. “When this opportunity presented itself, I was very excited just to further my career. I am excited to be offered this new opportunity and looking forward to continue working with the local businesses and chamber members.”
Key, a lifelong South Haven resident and mother of two young boys, has a strong bond with the local community. She believes her experience as a parent inspires her to give back and nurture the next generation of leaders.
“I’m passionate about our community and its growth, and I’m dedicated to ensuring the Chamber continues the support of local businesses and enhances economic development,” Key says. “This is a community that has supported me and my family for years, and I’m excited to give back to it.”
Kathy Wagaman, the former executive director, praised Key’s commitment to continuous improvement, noting it will greatly benefit the chamber. Key will officially take on her new role starting March 1.
