The UAW strike is into week five, and President Shawn Fain says the union’s strategy is changing.
Strike expansions were previously announced on Fridays, but Fain says workers could now hit the picket line at any time. He says members are ready to walk out at a moment’s notice.
“We’ve seen our standard of living decline due to stagnant wages and record inflation,” Fain said. “Income inequality in the United States has now risen to heights not seen since the Great Depression.”
More than 34,000 UAW members are on the picket line.
