The Tello Italian Bistro in South Haven is being added to the city’s social district.
The South Haven city council adopted a resolution that established the restaurant as part of the social district at 524 Phoenix Street. Back in 2022, the city council established the South Haven Social District, which consists of 8 restaurants.
Social districts are state-permitted outdoor areas where customers can legally carry around alcoholic beverages within the allotted area. Michigan Legislature approved the creation of social districts back in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic to encourage people to spend time outdoors.
